Joyce's latest endeavor is in the mono printing process. The process is unique and innovative, creating a special one of a kind image using only water-based media. She calls it her "water color mono print". The image is first made into a mould which is cast in paper. The cast paper is then painted and put through an etching press using 100% rag paper. This is the reverse of an etching as it is raised rather than incised. After the mono print is pulled from the cast paper, it is hand embellished with pastels and metallica for the finishing touches. Joyce was born in southwestern Oklahoma and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University. She studied at the Giassell Museum School, the academic wing of the Museum of Fine Arts of Houston, Texas. She has worked in the field of fine art, primarily in oils, for twenty years before turning her attention to the area of mono prints, collographs and handmade papers. Joyce's work is exhibited internationally in Japan, Australia, London and Canada, as well as in the United States. Her work is published in poster form by Galaxy of Graphics and Arthur Kaplan of New York City .
